Mamballi country painting depicts the sunrise of Cox River were Barney's mother comes from. This country is quite flat, svanah and is dotted with small waterholes. Legend has it that the great quite snake made all of that country and now lives there in the waterholes. Barney explains that it is sacred country, you cannot go there and if you fly too low over those waterholes the great snake will leap out and get you.
