Maisie was born in the Mt. Liebig area and later moved to Kintore. She was married to celebrated artist Barney Campbell Tjakamarra (already deceased) and now lives in Alice Springs.
A highly talented artist in her own right, Maisie began painting in the early 90's and her themes symbolize the huge women's ceremonies that take place in the area between Kintore and Kiwirrkurra in Western Australia. Her art became popular recently with a number of galleries exhibiting her vibrant art which is rich in colour and tells the numerous women stories that circulate in her community.
